TOP TEN CLASSIC CV ERRORS 

• Too long
• Heavy on job responsibilities; light on achievements
• Your achievements fail the “so what?” test
• Assuming the reader knows exactly what ABC Widgets makes or markets, to whom they sell and how large the company is in terms of turnover, number of employees etc
• A lack of business related metrics such as costs saved, profit growth, customer service level improvement or % increase of deliveries on time
• Unnecessary information including date of birth, hobbies and your favourite football team
• Date “gaps”
• Unused selling space – get your pagination right and if your CV runs to three sides, use all three sides to promote your skills, experience and achievements
• Grammatical errors; spelling mistakes
